I want to congratulate Scott Doonan on a job well done in 2007. He and Dawn picked up the pieces and ran with putting Thunderfest/ Bluesapalooza on and did a fantastic job. Running a business and donating time to the Covina Chamber of Commerce I am sure had its moments. The book was published on how to start a business and I have heard many comments on how helpful it is and people wishing it had existed when they started their business. Also the first Covina Chamber of Commerce Cookbook was published. I am really looking forward to my year as Chairperson and adding some new ideas to the Group. For those of you who missed the last breakfast meeting we had three excellent speakers from Northview High School. They want to start a mentoring program with local businesses. One of the things that I hear over and over again is business people who attend the breakfasts say that they would have never made it without the support of our Chamber. I think that says a lot for our Chamber. If you are not participating you are really missing out. There is a great mix from small to large businesses, schools, non profit groups, churches, home based businesses and the City of Covina.
